You've got a gift.
Someone at work remembered. Here's how to open it, and how to check the email is really from Dukky.
Checking an email is really from Dukky
Is this email really from Dukky?
Check where its button goes before you press it: a sender's name and address can be faked, a link's destination is harder to hide. A Dukky gift email's button opens a page on app.dukky.co, and from there you go to tremendous.com, our gift provider's site, to choose your gift. As a second hint, Dukky's emails come from an address ending in @dukky.co, such as rewards@dukky.co, with the business's name and "via Dukky" as the sender.
What will Dukky never ask for?
A password, a card number, or a payment for a gift. Getting a gift costs you nothing, and you don't need an account to open one. Apart from the gift itself, Dukky only asks for a delivery address when a gift is posted, and, for employees whose employer has turned it on, an optional questionnaire.
Who else might email me about a gift?
Tremendous, our gift provider, runs the tremendous.com site where you choose your gift card, and may email you the card you choose. If your gift is an experience or a voucher, the shop emails it to you, and Dukky's own email names that shop. If you use Dukky for your business, Stripe, which handles Dukky's payments, may email you receipts, a reminder before your free trial ends, and a notice if a card payment fails.
I'm still not sure. What should I do?
Open nothing in it: don't press its buttons or links. Forward it to hello@dukky.co and we'll tell you whether it's ours, or ask the business it says it's from.
Opening your gift
How do I open my gift?
Press 'Open your gift' in the email. You'll see who it's from and its value, then 'Choose your gift' takes you to our gift provider's site, where you pick your gift card.
Which gift cards can I choose?
Any gift card in the range our gift provider offers in Australia, up to your gift's value. A gift from your employer is gift cards only: there's no cash, bank transfer, PayPal or prepaid Visa.
Does my gift expire?
Gift links work for 30 days, and the email says the last day to open it. If yours has expired, reply to the email it came in: your reply usually goes to the business that sent it, and they can ask us for a fresh link. Once you've chosen a gift card, how long it lasts is up to the brand behind it, so check its terms.
The page says my gift isn't ready, or the link doesn't work.
If it isn't ready yet, try again later. If the link doesn't work, part of it may have been lost when it was copied: try the button in your email again. Still stuck? Reply to the email it came in.
Who gets my reply?
Usually the business that sent your gift. The bottom of each gift email says who your reply goes to.
Posted gifts and addresses
Why is Dukky asking for my address?
Your gift is something posted, so it needs a delivery address. A home or work address is fine. Dukky keeps it with the business so you're not asked again, and it's only used to post you gifts from them. The link works for 14 days.
How do I change the address I gave?
Reply to the email that asked for it. The bottom of that email says who your reply reaches.
When will it arrive?
The address email says when we're aiming to have it with you. Once it's posted, you get an email saying it's on its way, with a tracking link when there is one. It may come in the shop's own packaging. If it contains food, please check the labels for allergens before eating.
Why did I get a gift card instead?
If a gift can't be got to you in time, you get a gift card of the same value instead.
My gift is an experience or a voucher. Where is it?
It comes in a separate email from the shop, with everything you need to use it. For an experience, you book a date that suits you with the shop. Can't find it? Check your junk folder, then email hello@dukky.co.
The questionnaire
What's the questionnaire?
A short, optional set of questions about what you're into, so gifts from your employer suit you better. It takes about 3 minutes, and you can skip any question. Clients are never asked.
Who sees my answers?
Your employer never sees your answers. They see how many people have shared, and if a gift is chosen from what you share, a short reason like 'Chosen for their love of the outdoors'. A person at Dukky checks gift suggestions and may see your answers. To suggest gifts, Dukky sends your answers to Anthropic in the United States, which doesn't use them for training, with your name (as your employer has it) and your employer's name removed first.
How do I change or delete my answers?
Use the same link to change your answers while the questionnaire is open, or to delete them at any time. It works for 30 days, and the page can email you a fresh one. Your link is personal: anyone with it can change your answers but can't read them.
How do I stop the questionnaire emails?
Choose 'No thanks' on the questionnaire page and we won't ask again at that email address. Either way, Dukky asks at most two times per address, ever: the invite and one reminder. If your employer changes your email address in Dukky, it starts again at the new one.
Emails and your details
What emails will I get, and how do I stop them?
Only emails about gifts from the business that added you: the gift, an address request or a delivery update for a posted gift, and, if it's on, the questionnaire's invite and one reminder. Never marketing. To stop gifts through Dukky, or to have your details deleted, email hello@dukky.co: we'll ask the business that added you to remove you, and delete your details within 30 days, except records we must keep by law.
Why does Dukky have my details?
The business that sent your gift gave them to us to run its gifting: your name and email address, and any of your team, job title, the dates gifts are for (like a birthday or a start date) and a postal address. If you answered the questionnaire, Dukky keeps your answers too, and never shows them to your employer. You can ask us for a copy, or to correct it, at hello@dukky.co.
Still stuck? Ask a person.
Email hello@dukky.co and a person at Dukky will get back to you. Thinking about Dukky for your business? Book a 30-minute chat with the founder.
