A gift from a business you work with.
A business you work with sent you a thank-you through Dukky. Here's what it is and what you can do with it.
Gifts from a business you work with
Why did a business send me a gift through Dukky?
A business you work with uses Dukky to remember its clients, say on the anniversary of when you started working together, and to send a gift. Dukky sends the email for them, so it comes from their name, then 'via Dukky'.
How do I open it?
Press 'Open your gift' in the email. You'll see who it's from and its value, then you choose your gift on our gift provider's site, up to that amount. Gift links work for 30 days.
Why is Dukky asking for my address?
Your gift is something posted. A work address is fine, and Dukky only uses it to post you gifts from that business.
Will I be asked about what I like?
No. Clients are never sent Dukky's questionnaire.
Gifts policies
My organisation has a gifts policy. What should I do?
Check your policy before you open the gift. The email shows who it's from, what it's for and its value, which helps if you need to declare it. You don't have to open it, and you can reply to the email to let the business know: your reply usually goes to them.
Can I stop gifts through Dukky?
Email hello@dukky.co: we'll ask the business that added you to remove you, and delete your details within 30 days, except records we must keep by law. Or just tell your contact there.
What does Dukky keep about me?
What the business gave us to send you gifts: your name, email address and company, and any of the dates gifts are for and a postal address. Ask us for a copy, or to correct it, at hello@dukky.co.
Checking an email is really from Dukky
Is this email really from Dukky?
Check where its button goes before you press it: a sender's name and address can be faked, a link's destination is harder to hide. A Dukky gift email's button opens a page on app.dukky.co, and from there you go to tremendous.com, our gift provider's site, to choose your gift. As a second hint, Dukky's emails come from an address ending in @dukky.co, such as rewards@dukky.co, with the business's name and "via Dukky" as the sender.
What will Dukky never ask for?
A password, a card number, or a payment for a gift. Getting a gift costs you nothing, and you don't need an account to open one. Apart from the gift itself, Dukky only asks for a delivery address when a gift is posted, and, for employees whose employer has turned it on, an optional questionnaire.
Who else might email me about a gift?
Tremendous, our gift provider, runs the tremendous.com site where you choose your gift card, and may email you the card you choose. If your gift is an experience or a voucher, the shop emails it to you, and Dukky's own email names that shop. If you use Dukky for your business, Stripe, which handles Dukky's payments, may email you receipts, a reminder before your free trial ends, and a notice if a card payment fails.
I'm still not sure. What should I do?
Open nothing in it: don't press its buttons or links. Forward it to hello@dukky.co and we'll tell you whether it's ours, or ask the business it says it's from.
Still stuck? Ask a person.
Email hello@dukky.co and a person at Dukky will get back to you. Thinking about Dukky for your business? Book a 30-minute chat with the founder.
